United Airlines economy seats: what to know

How to compare United Airlines Economy locations, cabin versions and the seat-selection conditions attached to your trip.

Updated October 31, 2026

Economy Plus is distinct from Premium Plus

United’s Elevated 787-9 announcement lists Economy Plus and Economy separately from Premium Plus. When comparing the offer, identify whether you are buying a different cabin or selecting an Economy product with different space. Do not merge similarly named products.

Use a complete configuration view

The announced Elevated interior is a particular 787-9 layout, not a universal description of United’s widebody fleet. Match the configuration shown for your flight before comparing positions. Its dated product announcement alone does not provide a numbered seat map for every current aircraft.

Avoid guesses from unavailable diagrams

For cabins without a complete checked layout in our directory, use United’s own current seat-selection view. Verify seat letters, exit restrictions and any published measurements there. A blank or unavailable map on this site supplies no basis for a best-seat ranking.
